Visual art focuses on developing art general skills, interpreting and evaluating not only famous artists in history, but also indigenous and asian cultures along with developing the skill to be able to apply this knowledge to their own art work as well.
The art room is a shared open teaching space for other classrooms and is set up accordingly for everyone to be able to use.
If parents are ever interested in coming in and looking around they are more than welcome to because the art room is decorated purely by the student's artwork.
I am a graduate teacher this year, but some people may recognise me as I did my final teaching practicum at Victor Harbor R-7 School last year with Mrs Foot's Year 7 class! I live locally at Inman Valley and have a passion not only for teaching but for sport! I play netball for Myponga. I teach not only visual art on Tuesday and Wednesdays, but also Mrs Niven's Year 6/7s on Mondays and in the disability unit on Thursday and Fridays. I am studying a masters of Education, specialising in special education. I am very much enjoying my time this year teaching at Victor Harbor R-7 School and I look forward to updating the website with more photos of student's fantastic artwork throughout the year!
